Filters on the Result Map
The seed result map used to be one flat picture per seed. It is now drawn from marker data, which means every icon and every label on it is a separate object.
Why that matters
A picture is all or nothing. You cannot hide part of it, and you cannot zoom into it without it going soft. You can hide a marker, and a marker stays sharp at any zoom. That is the whole reason the filter feature exists.
The other consequence is weight. Opening a result used to fetch about 200 KB of image belonging to that one seed. It now draws from layer data that is 69 KB gzipped, loaded once and shared by all 520 seeds, so the second seed you open costs nothing extra, and neither does the five-hundredth.
The Filter button
The "Map Pattern XXX" label in the top-left corner of a result is now a Filter button. It opens a modal with up to nine groups: Chests, Small POIs, Sorcerer's Rise, Evergaols, Castle, Field Bosses, Great Field Bosses, Night Bosses, Trackable Events.
Not every group toggles the same thing. Some control whether the icon is drawn (Show), some control only the text (Description), and Night Bosses has Position and Description separately. With the Night Boss description off, the marker still shows you where the fight is, labelled only "Night 1" or "Night 2".
A seed only lists the groups it actually has. Great Hollow has no Evergaols and no castle garrison, so those rows are simply absent there.
When something is hidden the button reads Showing(10/12), so you can tell at a glance that you are not looking at everything, down to 0/12 if you hide the lot. Your choices carry over between seeds and between sessions, and there is a Reset to default in the modal.
Two things now on the map that were not before
Night 1 and Night 2 boss locations, with the boss name, on all 520 seeds. Night 1 is a green circle, Night 2 blue.
Who garrisons the castle, Trolls or Crucible Knights or Banished Knights, on the 390 seeds that have a castle.
Three night boss names are shortened on the marker
The label is small, so three bosses lose their escort in the text:
| Shown on the map | Full name |
|---|---|
| Demi-Human Queen | Demi-Human Queen and Swordmaster |
| Tree Sentinel | Tree Sentinel and Royal Cavalrymen |
| Draconic Tree Sentinel | Draconic Tree Sentinel and Royal Cavalrymen |
The Swordmaster and the Royal Cavalrymen are still in the fight. They just do not fit on the marker, so I am saying it here instead.
Four other bosses had two different spellings depending on which seed you opened. Each has one now: Crucible Knight & Hippo, Dancer of the Boreal Valley, The Duke's Dear Freja, Night's Cavalry Duo.
Difficult Sorcerer's Rise is its own POI
The tower with three secrets now has its own icon and can be marked in the builder. It appears on 7 seeds.
There is a consequence you should know about before your next search: marking a regular Sorcerer's Rise now excludes those seven seeds, because they no longer carry the regular tower. A search that used to leave them in the candidate list will not any more.
The Scale-Bearing Merchant can be marked on Limveld
Until now the merchant was only markable on Great Hollow. The five Limveld maps, Normal and Crater and Mountaintop and Rotted Woods and Noklateo, now have nine merchant positions of their own, spread across the map with no single one dominating, and the builder takes a mark on them like any other POI. The merchant is recorded on 105 of the 440 Limveld seeds. Great Hollow keeps its own separate arrangement, where 24 of its 80 seeds have one.
One difference from every other slot, and it will come up the first time you use it: a merchant position cannot be marked "Nothing". It is either the merchant or it is unmarked. Everywhere else you can record that you looked and found nothing there. Here you cannot, because a merchant position without a merchant is not a place on the map at all.
Fixes
•Meteor Strike was missing on two DLC seeds, 1096 and 1114. The two sheets record the event in different columns and the DLC one was not being read.
•The Rot Blessing was missing on ten DLC Rotted Woods seeds. The DLC sheet has no column for it, so those ten were read off the maps instead. All 50 Rotted seeds show it now.
•Sorcerer's Rise secrets on DLC seeds had wrong or missing text. Corrected.
•Crystal Finder on Great Hollow: the six lower crystals sat in the wrong place, and the whole finder was drawing behind the map's markers. Both fixed.
•Going from the builder to a result no longer flashes.
•The Nightlord icon in the builder was smaller than the one on the result. They match now.
Smaller changes
On desktop, the footer on the map pages now gets out of the way immediately instead of lingering for a few seconds. Scrolling down or moving the mouse to the bottom brings it back.
The back-to-top button now appears as soon as you scroll, on desktop and on mobile.
One removal: seed result links no longer carry a preview thumbnail when shared.
