EventsHistoryHow to Use

Most seeds are identified from one landmark.

The dataset holds 520 map seed records. You pick the Nightlord, mark where you landed, and mark what you can see. Across the 400,702 identifications logged on this site, 86% of Normal-map searches finished on two landmarks or fewer. Once one record is left, the page shows the events, the boss labels and the contents of each location, none of which the game prints on your map.

How it works

  1. Pick the map type while you are still in the air
  2. Mark the Nightlord, where you landed, and any landmark you can make out
  3. Read the events, boss labels and location contents off the result

Spoiler Warning

This tool reveals hidden content, surprise events, and boss identities. Reading a seed in advance takes the surprise out of the run, for you and for anyone you tell, so it is worth checking that your squad wants to know.

What a result page shows you

  • Before you land: The enemy and boss positions recorded for the seed
  • Special events: Which event the seed holds, when one is recorded for it
  • End-of-day bosses: Their identities and where they appear
  • Sorcerer's Rises: The recorded puzzle solution for the seed
  • Chests and merchants: Treasure chest, merchant, and caravan positions
  • Route planning: Compare possible paths using the recorded map layout

Complete Coverage

The current snapshot covers 520 map seed records across base-game and DLC content and is labelled for version 1.03.2. Coverage and confidence vary by field; source attribution, checks, and known limits are documented in the methodology.

Hunting a Specific Event?

Compare which Nightlord and map combinations contain the largest share of records for each Special Event.

Map patterns by Nightlord

Base game boss Nightlords feature 40 regular expedition patterns (20 baseline plus 5 for each Shifting Earth map modifier variant) and an additional 10 DLC-exclusive patterns unlocked in Deep of Night. DLC Nightlords offer 60 total patterns: 20 baseline, 20 in Great Hollow, and 5 for each base game Shifting Earth variant.

For the full workflow, see How to Use.

Map-Nightlord Distribution

Each map type has a fixed number of possible seed patterns. Understanding this distribution helps you narrow down your seed faster by pre-selecting the map and boss Nightlord combination, reducing search space from 520 to as few as 10 patterns in some cases.

What is Nightreign Seed Finder?

The hard part is working out which of the 520 records you are in. You get a few seconds in the air to spot landmarks, and comparing what you saw against that many layouts by hand is not something you can do mid-run. That is what this site is for: you mark what you can see, and it removes every record that does not match until one is left.

Once a single record is left, the result page shows what is stored for it:

  • Recorded positions of enemies and bosses covered by the dataset
  • Special-event data when it is recorded for the seed
  • Treasure chest coordinates and Scale-Bearing Merchant placements
  • End-of-day boss identities and their specific locations
  • Map information you can use to plan a route for your own run

The dataset covers base game and DLC records. The counts it reports describe the records this tool holds, not in-game drop rates, and the methodology page explains where the data came from and what it does not cover.
