Arabic, and the Language Choice Moves to the Front Page

The map has spoken eight languages since 1.6.06, but only once you were already inside a map. The language now sits on the front page, next to the two buttons under the map cards, and the detection that reads your browser runs there too instead of waiting for you to open a seed.

Arabic is the eighth language. It is the first one that reads right to left, which meant the map labels needed their own handling: the line-breaking that splits a long name in two looks for spaces in Arabic rather than for the joining characters Chinese and Japanese use, and the map ships its own Arabic font, since the one the site was falling back to was Arial.

Six boss names that were never translated

Four bosses on the Mountaintop had no entry in any language and rendered in English no matter what you picked: the Mountaintop Ice Dragon, the Snowfield Trolls, the Demi-Human Swordmaster and the Giant Crows. The Crater's Fire Prelates and Noklateo's Headless Troll had the same gap.

With those filled, the part of the site that finds your seed is fully translated in all eight languages. Picking a map, marking what you see, and reading the result all work end to end.

Every name comes from the game's own text rather than from me, matched entry by entry across the eight versions. That is slow work, and some of it comes from reading the game one term at a time, so small mistakes are likely. If you play in one of these languages and something reads wrong, tell me and I will fix it.

The guides, the event hunting page and the how-to are still English. They are much longer and far less asked for, so they come later.

The Nightlord status card

Clicking the card used to pin it, which also moved it. It now opens a panel instead, and the card stays where it is.

The panel spells out what the three icon rows on the card mean, which was the part the icons never quite managed on their own. If you had the card pinned, it is set to always show; everyone else gets the middle option, which is what the card already did.

That middle option is the one worth knowing about. Cards on the map now have three states rather than two, and they are the same three everywhere: the event card, the gaol card, and this one.

Left to right: never show it, show it once when the map loads, keep it up. Hovering still reveals a hidden card in the first two.

The card also moved out from under the Nightlord portrait, where it had been sitting on top of it.

The Great Hollow gets two things

The two towers where three field bosses stand on the same spot are called Temple in the game. They now have their own row in Map Settings, so those stacked labels can be turned off without hiding every other boss on the map.

Twenty-four Great Hollow seeds spawn the Legendary Merchant on the second day. Those seeds now say so above the map.

The Rotted Woods blessing marker can also be switched off now. It was pinned on with no way to hide it, which was an oversight rather than a decision.

Labels that sat on each other

A dozen labels across the maps were printed over the icon they belonged to, or over the one next to it.

Two of them move only in some seeds. The Night's Cavalry label in the Rotted Woods lifts when a night boss circle lands to its left, and the Draconic Tree Sentinel there lifts when another field boss is beside it.

Also

Seed 1043 had a Scale-Bearing Merchant in its record that is not in the game. It has been removed. Not even Libra can be in two places at once.
