Troubleshooting a Wrong or Missing Seed Result

A diagnostic checklist for zero matches, a plausible but wrong map, or a post-patch discrepancy.

Separate identification errors from data errors

A matching failure happens before a seed is identified; a data discrepancy happens after the correct seed opens but one of its details differs from the run. Those cases need different evidence. For a failure, preserve the selected inputs. For a discrepancy, preserve the seed ID and exact field that differs.

Start by checking map type and Nightlord. They filter many records at once and can make every POI mark appear wrong. Then review the last selected slot, especially when nearby icons overlap or a variant is difficult to read.

When there are zero candidates

Undo one input at a time, beginning with the least certain. If candidates return after removing a single POI, verify both its slot number and icon variant. If removing the Nightlord restores candidates, confirm that the expedition selection matches what was entered.

Do not add more marks to compensate for a contradiction. Additional constraints cannot restore a record that an earlier wrong constraint already removed.

When one result looks plausible but is wrong

Compare the result’s map type, Nightlord, event, and two distinctive POIs with the run. If the identity is wrong, return to the builder and add a slot that differs between the plausible candidates. If the identity is right but one POI differs, note that as a field-level discrepancy.

After a game patch, test whether several slots changed together. A cluster of differences may indicate that the dataset snapshot needs review for the new version rather than one isolated typo.

Build a reproducible report

Include seed URL or ID, map type, Nightlord, game version, affected slot, value shown, value observed, and the steps used to identify the seed. Add a screenshot only when it makes the slot or variant clearer. Never include passwords, payment details, or unrelated personal data.

  • Use the footer Report button for product or data issues.
  • Describe one discrepancy per field when possible.
  • Say whether the problem repeats in another run.
  • Mention whether minimalist mode, ad blocking, or script blocking affected the interface.
